Building a Pond needs to be planned just like building a house or swimming pool. A pond has similarities to a swimming pool in that that both need surface skimmers, but the filtration takes an abrupt turn from its brethren in that with the copious feeding of Koi or Goldfish. These animals are messy and need large surface area filtration or the pond will turn into a laborious chore rather that an easy to maintain center piece in your yard.
